2025 marked the 16th year of the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology’s work fostering interdisciplinary dialogue through immersive soundwalks, educational workshops, and creative and scholarly projects. As a co-founder, teaching artist, and President of the Board of Directors, MSAE has been a central part of my life and work. I’ve invested deeply in building a community grounded in listening—listening with place, with one another, and with the environments we share.
This short video interview reflects on why membership matters to me and on listening as something we do together, with care and attention. If you’re interested in how MSAE supports this work and helps sustain it into the future, I invite you to watch the video and consider beginning or renewing your membership.
